New for 2005
We've made some changes and added some great new features based on feedback from our premiere trip in 2004.
- Scotland and Science – Two brand new itineraries for those who went on last year's trip and want to experience more of the UK!
- Pricing – Many people requested lower-priced options, and we listened. You may now choose to stay in budget accommodations (may not be centrally located). We hope this will allow more people to book the trip and it is a great option for students! For Gold and Silver packages, the first two people in one hotel room will be priced identically. A discount of up to $400 is applied to third and fourth persons. A single supplement is only charged if you choose to have your own room throughout the duration of the tour or you cannot find a roommate.
- The Train Ride – This year we will have exclusive use of engine #5972 (the actual "Hogwarts Express" from the movies) for an entire day! Plus, all fans in and around London can purchase a ticket to ride the train without attending a full trip. We wanted to provide this truly extraordinary opportunity to all fans! It was definitely a highlight of last year's trip. (Pricing TBA and subject to waiting list; priority is given to trip participants.)
- Group Size – We are capping each group at 42 people. This will allow groups to move at a better, more fluid pace and enjoy an intimate experience. (It is much easier to get around with a group of this size.) Minimum group size is 30 people.
- Coaches and Guides – Each group will be assigned its own guide and coach (transportation). Therefore, even though there will be multiple groups in the same city throughout the tours, each group will depart independently and stay with the same guide the entire time.
- Large Venues – While groups will be kept separate throughout their itineraries, exceptions include the train and birthday banquet. The Scotland itinerary will bring the groups together for the Alnwick dinner and Vaults dinner as well. This way, all the participants can get together and mingle in a larger, more diverse atmosphere.
- Wands – This year, no matter what trip you attend, you will receive a customized, limited-edition Alivan's magic wand!
- Airport Transfers – Last year we did not offer a return transfer to departing airport. This year we will attempt to coordinate a transfer time period for each group, dependent upon the flight schedules of each person. Transfers from the airport on the first day are included as well if your flight arrives between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. If your flight schedule does not fall within the allotted timeframes you will be responsible for your own transfers to/from the airport.
